    So Frustrating

My back is getting better but it’s not there yet.  It’s been a very stressful week.  Works has been insane and Chloe is in her 3rd week growth spurt.  This is totally normal but it means she’s been feeding every two hours this week.  Even at night.  So I am exhausted, stressed and in pain.

I have not been to the gym in seven days.  My head hurts.  I feel like I am going to implode.  But the weird thing is I continue to lose weight.  The combination of sticking to my diet religiously and all the stress is probably what is doing it.  But I am also losing the muscle I worked so hard to build.

    MEH

Hoping I can get back to it next week.

These things happen. The key is to not backslide entirely, so you’re doing good by sticking to your diet. Just do what you can do, and remember that fitness gains can be made without earning fitocracy points.

    (and congratulations!)

Taylor’s right - Diets are fads but Fitness means playing the long game. As much as our efforts day-to-day matter, it’s a period of months and years that make fitness worthwhile. In that timeframe, the abundance of good days overwhelm the bad days, even when the bad ones are grouped together. You’ve got a lot going on, and sometimes that means letting the gym take a backseat for a week or so; that week isn’t going to negate a few months’ worth of good choices just as a good week doesn’t negate a few months’ worth of bad ones choices.

Don’t let the stress of missing a workout due to higher priorities pile onto the already rather high amount of stress you’re working with. Just know that you’re gonna get back into it after you’ve dealt with what needs immediate attention, and do what you can in the meantime. Then, when you’ve got less on your plate, go back for more.
