1. Working out got a bit harder…

Well, I have a jorb now.  It’s a good jorb.  It’s a mostly enjoyable jorb.  (yes, a jorb is a job).

This is a very good thing, but there is one tiny problem with it.  Work is tiring.  I don’t mean in the normal work is tiring way, because you were working all day and you just want to get home.  I mean it’s one of those on my feet for 8 hours a day and only get to sit down once during the whole work day for lunch.  In addition to that I am lifting/moving around 50 cases of wine a day or more.  So yeah it isn’t the most physically demanding job in the world but it certainly is tiring.  Which complicates working out.  On the plus side, I lost the other 4 pounds I was looking to lose and my stomach is already looking better for is simply due to my job.

I want to start getting to the gym before work sometimes, but I have to take into account a 50 minute drive in addition to 15-20 mins to get to the gym, then 15-20 minutes to get back, and that’s before the actual workout.  So even for a half hour workout I would have to plan nearly 2 hours in advance (taking into account showering and changing.  I mean in theory I could bring my clothes to the gym since it’s sort of on the way-ish but the locker room at my gym is kind of disgusting.

So in addition to the logistics issues, even on my days off… I’ve been tired.  Just worked out today and didn’t have much in me really.  I’m sure a good part of that was celebrating my break from work last night with a bit of sake and being bad with my sleep schedule, but yeah.

I think part of what I need to do is plan better.  I did well at deadlifts today but they took a lot out of me, so I’m going to just not do them on saturday (hoping to get an 8am workout in before my 10:30 shift, less traffic going in on the weekends means shorter drive which means more time to work out before work) in favor of working on a plethora of other muscles.  Anyhoo, rambly but there is my weekly post.

Also if you want wine, visit me at the San Antonio Winery (it’s just east of downtown) and I’ll get you some good stuff.
